From the Deck to the Page #7
Card Category: Express: Share what makes you, you.
Card Message to Ponder from the ‘Soul Bridges’ deck: Tell me about a time you felt truly “seen” by someone.
There’s something sacred about being truly seen.
Not just noticed. Not complimented. Not praised for what you’ve done—but recognized for who you are. Deep down. Underneath the layers of roles, responsibilities, and routines. To be seen in your becoming, even before you know what you’re becoming—that’s something else entirely.
I remember the exact moment it happened for me.
It was with my aunt, who has always held a special place in my life. She’s more than family—she’s a guide, a soul mirror, and my first Reiki Master. We’ve always shared a bond, but this moment between us still stands out like a lantern in the fog.
In a phone conversation she said, “You are ready.”
I paused, confused, then asked, “Ready for what?”
Her reply: “To walk the path I always knew you were meant to walk.”
Those words stopped me in my tracks. I hadn’t fully seen what she saw in me. But she had been watching, waiting, holding that truth until I was ready to carry it myself.
That was the beginning of my Reiki journey.
We scheduled my attunements.
I began practicing the art of energy healing.
And more than that—I began remembering who I was.
That moment didn’t just mark the start of a new chapter. It was a soul recognition. A reflection. A passing of the torch from one healer to another.
And I often wonder—how many of us are walking around, waiting to be seen like that?
Seen for our gifts.
Seen for our softness.
Seen for the power we don’t even know we carry yet.
The card pull that inspired this blog asked a powerful question:
“Tell me about a time you felt truly seen by someone.”
Take a moment with that. Let it settle into your heart.
Who comes to mind?
Maybe it was a teacher who believed in you when you didn’t believe in yourself.
Maybe it was a partner who looked at your shadows and stayed.
Maybe it was a stranger who noticed your tired eyes and offered kindness.
Or maybe—just maybe—it was you, finally looking in the mirror and saying, “There you are.”
Being seen is healing. But so is seeing.
Seeing others. Honoring their light. Speaking truth into someone’s becoming. That’s part of the work, too. We don’t always know the power of our words until much later—when someone tells us, “That moment with you changed me.”
So this week, I invite you to sit with the memory of when you were truly seen. And then—pay it forward.
Be the one who sees.
Be the one who reminds someone:
“You are ready.”
I thank you for being here. If you enjoyed this post, there’s plenty more where that came from, everything from soulful healing tips to playful prompts and real conversations about life.
