What is this blog about? Well, it's a general blog, but it is also a very specific blog. If you get that
reference, you get a gold star! I have been a public relations professional and writer of press
releases for more than 20 years—primarily in the booze biz. I decided to do some writing for
fun and embrace the humor that gets me through most days. Hopefully it will make you
chuckle—or at least smile. I’m a certified crazy magnet, and more than a little nutty myself, so
buckle up. Also, I have two vices—profanity and red wine/whiskey. You’ve been warned.
It should also be noted, that I’m a HUGE Bob & Sheri fan. I’ve been a listener for more than 20
years. This opportunity is a dream come true and it may have made me cry. That being said, I
cry at everything.
If you are into booze, dogs, food and/or knitting, hit me up on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter
(although I’m terrible at Twitter and it scares me) @kyspiritsgal. You can also find all my
previous blog posts at www.kyspiritsgal.com.

Seize the Day

Life is full of decisions. Some are basic and have no real repercussions, others might be dwelled upon for days, months, years or even a lifetime. I was recently faced with such a decision. As I mentioned in this blog last week, my dear friend and I...

The Great Album Debate

I have been married for nearly 30 years. Obviously, my husband and I have had many disagreements during this time. One that has lasted our entire marriage, which U2 album is the best. Before we get into the great album debate, let me start by...

May the Fourth Be With You

It may be cheesy, but I love May the Fourth. Whoever came up with Star Wars Day deserves an award. I am 51 years old. I have loved all things Star Wars since I was five. I love everything about it. It just makes me flat-out happy. Star Wars was the...

Can We Talk?

In recent years I’ve tried to be more open and honest about my mental health struggles. I believe strongly in normalizing mental health. That shit isn’t going to happen if we don’t talk about it. I will continue with this mission, but I’ve found a...

My Second Husband List

I’ve been married for nearly 30 years and I love my husband very much. If we’re being honest, there are probably very few (if any) other people on this earth who could put up with my nonsense. I’m difficult. I know that. Despite my love for my...

What a Character

My bestie and I were chatting recently about a sequel to a book we both read. We both liked the original book, but couldn’t remember much about it. It just didn’t stick with us. We still planned to read the second one. On the other hand, we both...

A Drop in the Bucket

I don’t have a bucket list per se. There are lots of things I want to do before I die, but I have not sat down and written out a list. That just seems so dark. However, I do keep a bucket list of sorts in my head that mostly involves all the places...

Judge Judy, Reporting for Duty

I will be the first one to admit, I can be a little judgy. I really do try to keep it in check, but I’m not always successful. It’s not that I think I’m better than anyone. I just have very strong opinions on right and wrong. I recently discovered...
