What is this blog about? Well, it's a general blog, but it is also a very specific blog. If you get that
reference, you get a gold star! I have been a public relations professional and writer of press
releases for more than 20 years—primarily in the booze biz. I decided to do some writing for
fun and embrace the humor that gets me through most days. Hopefully it will make you
chuckle—or at least smile. I’m a certified crazy magnet, and more than a little nutty myself, so
buckle up. Also, I have two vices—profanity and red wine/whiskey. You’ve been warned.
It should also be noted, that I’m a HUGE Bob & Sheri fan. I’ve been a listener for more than 20
years. This opportunity is a dream come true and it may have made me cry. That being said, I
cry at everything.
If you are into booze, dogs, food and/or knitting, hit me up on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter
(although I’m terrible at Twitter and it scares me) @kyspiritsgal. You can also find all my
previous blog posts at www.kyspiritsgal.com.

When Things Go Missing

About two years ago, we installed a dog door. This was a direct result of my youngest German Shorthair Pointer, Mavis, wanting to go outside continuously throughout the day while I was trying to work. I got my steps in, but it was not efficient for...

Vacation TV

My family does not watch a lot of TV. We mainly watch sports. We are not those smug people who judge people for watching TV. There are a lot of great shows out there. I wish I watched more than I do. I just have trouble focusing. I blame menopause...

Best Mom Moments

My good friend recently had a “Best Mom Moment.” She was trying to get her 17-year-old son to New York to meet up with a group of fellow soccer players. They were then headed to Spain for a camp. It did not go smoothly. Upon arrival at the airport...

We Do Not Care

I will be the first to admit that I’m addicted to social media. I know it is bad for me. I’ve almost given it up (or tried) numerous times, but then I discover an account that speaks to me, entertains me, and perhaps, even makes my life better...

The Need for Speed

I do not like car racing. I never have. I honestly don’t get it. Driving at my top speed seems scary AF to me. It makes me very nervous. I have also never seen the appeal of watching people drive in circles. I won’t even get into the noise, the...

Weather Woes

It was a lazy Sunday morning. I was up before my husband. I sat on the couch, knitting and sipping my tea. I decided I needed some chill music. I kicked it old school with some Cowboy Junkies on the HomePod. That is some good, mellow Sunday morning...

What Makes a House a Home

One of the nicest things my husband has ever said to me in our plethora of moves is, “You always make our house feel like a home.” I take that as a huge compliment. Home is important. Making a comfortable, nice and welcoming home is a hard balance...

Unrelatable

I’m finding it very hard to connect with the general public after the election. I’ve always struggled in the town where I live. I’m different. I’m a tree-hugging hippie. Most of those who surround me are not. I’ve lived here for 11 years and have...
