What is this blog about? Well, it's a general blog, but it is also a very specific blog. If you get that
reference, you get a gold star! I have been a public relations professional and writer of press
releases for more than 20 years—primarily in the booze biz. I decided to do some writing for
fun and embrace the humor that gets me through most days. Hopefully it will make you
chuckle—or at least smile. I’m a certified crazy magnet, and more than a little nutty myself, so
buckle up. Also, I have two vices—profanity and red wine/whiskey. You’ve been warned.
It should also be noted, that I’m a HUGE Bob & Sheri fan. I’ve been a listener for more than 20
years. This opportunity is a dream come true and it may have made me cry. That being said, I
cry at everything.

Monday gets a bad rap, folks. I generally don’t mind a Monday. Hopefully, I’m rested from the weekend and ready to get back at it. It is also nice to have something to discuss around the old water cooler at work. Mondays also seem to go by pretty fast for the most part, as you dive into all the shit you put off on Friday.

So, if Monday isn’t the worst day of the week, then what is, you ask? That would be a big, fat, insufferable Tuesday. Tuesday has no redeeming qualities. It’s not the beginning, middle, or end of the week. It is lodged somewhere in purgatory. It has no redeeming qualities. I have very little respect for a Tuesday. Fuck Tuesdays.

A Tuesday will drag on forever. It is definitely the longest day of the week. Wednesdays can be long, too, but at least there is the whole “Hump Day” thing to pull you through. Tuesday has no mantra. It is like it is just lodged between a Monday and a Wednesday, making you suffer unnecessarily.

Now, I love a Thursday. Thursday is the “Gateway to the Weekend.” Thanks, Bob & Sheri, for coining that. Lots of good stuff can happen on a Thursday, and they usually go by pretty quickly. Everyone is willing to make Thursday good because, obviously, Friday is up next.

Friday or Saturday is usually everyone’s favorite day. Friday nights are glorious. You have the whole weekend to look forward to. We have a rule at our house that no one cooks on Fridays. Not having to plan a meal for Friday night is all that keeps me going some weeks, and I love to cook. However, the break is nice, I will wholeheartedly admit.

Saturdays are full of possibilities. The world is your oyster. Oh, the joy of sleeping in and having a leisurely Saturday morning filled with hot tea and scones! Also, on a Saturday, you have not started thinking about a new workweek yet. Time is on your side. Not to mention, you can stay up late and sleep in again on Sunday. Saturdays should be the week’s most chill day. Or perhaps, a day for a grand adventure. Saturdays must be savored and lived to their fullest.

Then comes Sunday. Oh, Sunday, you sassy little minx. I like a Sunday till about 2 p.m. At that point, I start to develop the “Sunday Scaries” and am already dreading Tuesday again. It really sucks the fun out of my Sunday evening. Unless, of course, there is football to watch, and that generally gets me through. Football is Sunday’s best friend and one of the most important days of the week—at least during football season.

I know it’s weird, and I’m probably overthinking the days of the week, but I will always stand by my statement that Tuesday sucks ass.

For the record, I’m writing this on a Tuesday morning, and I’m already over it. Blah! Tuesday, you can bite me.
