Meet Jimmy Chew! 🐾
Jimmy Chew recently got to enjoy a day out, and he was such a good boy. It is hard to believe this sweet guy has been waiting so long because he has so many wonderful qualities.
Jimmy Chew is easy to manage with a harness, knows sit and shake, loves treats, and seems to be potty trained. He was not reactive to other dogs during his day out, though slow introductions are always recommended. He did show some interest in chasing a squirrel, so he may have a little playful prey drive when small critters are around.
This handsome boy is sweet, manageable, treat motivated, and ready for someone to give him the chance he deserves. He would love a foster or forever home where he can finally settle in and show off what a great companion he can be.
Jimmy Chew is available through Animal Care and Control in Charlotte.

Meet Jelly! 🐾
Jelly is around 5 years old, neutered, and a big, smart brindle Staffordshire mix.
When Jelly came to the shelter in May as an owner surrender, he was misunderstood. He did not present well in the kennel and seemed reactive and wild at first. Some volunteers were nervous to walk him because he was difficult to leash and very vocal.
But once Jelly got out of the kennel, everyone started to realize the truth: he just wanted to talk, loudly, and he really just wanted a buddy. Sadly, because he was misunderstood, he ended up on the euthanasia list. Thankfully, donations made it possible for him to enter a Board and Train program at The Perfect Pup in Statesville, and he has now graduated with flying colors.
Jelly is a happy, outgoing boy who is ready for an active family to call his own. He is incredibly sweet, loves meeting people, and is excellent out in public. Whether you are heading to a brewery, park, or hiking trail, Jelly is the kind of dog who would love to come along.
Jelly is dog-friendly and would do best with a confident, playful dog who enjoys a rough-and-rowdy play style, ideally another bully breed who can match his energy. He is very responsive and has great recall, even when he gets a little excited during playtime.
He is not a fit for a home with cats. He is great with kids, but because he can be a little rough when excited, children ages 6 and up would be best.
Jelly has excellent leash manners, is reliable off leash, and has a wonderful foundation of obedience. He has worked so hard, and now he just needs the family who will help him keep building on everything he has learned.
Jelly is available through Animal Care and Control and is currently at The Perfect Pup.
