Hi!
My name is Kerri Green;
Wife to Justin, and mother to four highly entertaining daughters
-Alena, Chloe, Tessa, and Paige.
I am an artist, a writer, a daycare provider,
a lover of people, a believer that there is humor and beauty in all things,
and the author of Mom Outnumbered;
a blog about real family life, and my observations of it.
My goal is to make people laugh,
to be there for them when they cry,
and most importantly,
to let them know that they are not at all alone in this up and down world.
I live with my family in Sebastopol California, and I am opening the window into our life.
So welcome!
Come in.
Sit down.
Just please don’t mind the mysterious wet spots.

At dinner time two nights ago, my two high school daughters told a hilarious tale:

School elections had been coming up to decide who would be class president next year.
Two of the kids running were the ones that you’d typically expect.
You know, the kind with the backpacks that roll;
But out of left-field a kid showed up on the scene that no one knew anything about yet.

His name was Eugene, and before long he had plastered fliers everywhere.
“VOTE FOR EUGENE” the words read.
Eugene, yes, he would be their man.

Eugene worked tirelessly for days, fliers and posters littering the hall, and even had a couple of kids doing PR work.
During breaks and lunches they passed out more information on how this special kid was going to save them all.
His Instagram info was on them.
Kids started to huddle and look it up.
On social media he began to post photos and hilarious video clips about all the reasons that kids should vote for him – Their ultimate president.

Every day some new antic brought a smile, and kids started to take note.

This guy Eugene was so much fun!
This kid had won their vote!

The girls said that as time went on he became a major topic of discussion.
Who was this kid, really?
Did anyone know him personally? Eugene, Eugene…
“Have you heard about Eugene, though?”

He somehow had half a school of strangers willing to check the box by his name on
the ballot that could have easily said,
“Eugene: The kid that no one knows.”

However, when election day came, and the kids lined up to head to the polls,
they all noticed the same thing at the table – Though the other two nominees were listed there,
Eugene’s name was not there at all.

What had happened, they all wondered?
They all looked around at each other until someone got the idea to check his Instagram account to see if he had announced deciding to not run in one of his infamous posts;
But, when they pulled up his account,
They discovered something that made them bend over and choke:

He had swapped out every previous post with 100 of the same picture of a troll,
and he’d changed his bio line to simply read, “Get pranked lol.”
The entire campaign had been a joke.

He was never even running.
He just said he was.

Following this prank the kids just loved him even more
and, I am told, that nobody-seeming kid has hundreds of friends now that smile and give him high-five and passing hall fist-bumps.

It’s like even without really running,
that random kid still won.

He figured out a way to win an entire school over,
and to have his name widely known.
Either this kid is going places or he’ll have a Netflix special one day:

“Inventing Eugene – How a High School Legend Was Born.”
