AuthorAngela Traver

What is this blog about? Well, it's a general blog, but it is also a very specific blog. If you get that
reference, you get a gold star! I have been a public relations professional and writer of press
releases for more than 20 years—primarily in the booze biz. I decided to do some writing for
fun and embrace the humor that gets me through most days. Hopefully it will make you
chuckle—or at least smile. I’m a certified crazy magnet, and more than a little nutty myself, so
buckle up. Also, I have two vices—profanity and red wine/whiskey. You’ve been warned.
It should also be noted, that I’m a HUGE Bob & Sheri fan. I’ve been a listener for more than 20
years. This opportunity is a dream come true and it may have made me cry. That being said, I
cry at everything.
If you are into booze, dogs, food and/or knitting, hit me up on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter
(although I’m terrible at Twitter and it scares me) @kyspiritsgal. You can also find all my
previous blog posts at www.kyspiritsgal.com.

Reading with My Daughter

Over the Christmas break, my daughter, Josie, was home from college. One day I walked into the living room only to find her curled up on the couch with my favorite book. Yes, she was reading Leaving Cheyenne by my favorite author, Larry McMurtry. I...

Living Through Our Stomachs

The Traver family loves to eat. We are all foodies. We are all constantly looking forward to our next good meal. We love to have an orgasmic food experience. Over the holidays we made a trip to Nashville to get our daughter fitted for a suit. Yes...

Vices

I’m beaten down with all the things experts tell me I shouldn’t do. Enough already. The straw that broke this camel’s back was the Surgeon General saying all alcohol is bad and it’s probably going to kill me. What!? Get off my ass. I’m well aware...

The Winter Solstice

For most of my life, December 21 has been my least favorite day of the year. It is the shortest day of the year, and to me, it represents being in the throes of my least favorite season with at least two miserable months ahead of me. That changed a...

Channeling the Holiday Spirit

I’m trying really hard to get into the holidays. Last year, I totally tapped out. I didn’t have it in me. I honestly don’t want a repeat of that, but it is hard. I just don’t feel particularly festive.  I am trying, though. I even did Christmas...

Car Shopping

There are not a ton of activities on this planet I truly detest. However, residing at the top of this short list is shopping for a new vehicle. I absolutely fucking hate it. Here’s the real rub in the situation: my husband loves it. He is like a...

Finding Hope

As a Buddhist, I believe in the law of cause and effect. If you put good things out into the universe, they will be returned. If you’re an ass hat, that will come back to you as well. Karma has everyone’s address. I experienced this phenomenon first...
