AuthorAngela Traver

What is this blog about? Well, it's a general blog, but it is also a very specific blog. If you get that
reference, you get a gold star! I have been a public relations professional and writer of press
releases for more than 20 years—primarily in the booze biz. I decided to do some writing for
fun and embrace the humor that gets me through most days. Hopefully it will make you
chuckle—or at least smile. I’m a certified crazy magnet, and more than a little nutty myself, so
buckle up. Also, I have two vices—profanity and red wine/whiskey. You’ve been warned.
It should also be noted, that I’m a HUGE Bob & Sheri fan. I’ve been a listener for more than 20
years. This opportunity is a dream come true and it may have made me cry. That being said, I
cry at everything.
If you are into booze, dogs, food and/or knitting, hit me up on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter
(although I’m terrible at Twitter and it scares me) @kyspiritsgal. You can also find all my
previous blog posts at www.kyspiritsgal.com.

Lots of Laughs

The year 2025 has been the year of comedy for the Traver family. I decided early in January to see as many funny people as possible because this world is a shit show and I need to laugh. Thus far, I’ve seen Jim Gaffigan, Wanda Sykes and Fortune...

My Favorite Season

I don’t like fall or winter. I actually hate winter. However, football season is my favorite season of the year.  Yes, I realize that football season lands in fall and winter. It’s one of life’s mysteries. I’m a Kansas City Chiefs fan. Get off my...

Till Death Do Us Part

If you have read many of my blog posts, you know I am over the “blockbuster” movie. I just want a nice little movie to make it to the theaters. I can only handle so much superhero bullshit. So, imagine my delight when I see there has been a remake...

A Puzzling Vacation

As it has become a family tradition, my sisters, mom and bonus dad trek to Hilton Head every September for a week at the beach. It is a great time. My Aunt Patti went with us last year, but was unable to make it this year. We will miss her. We are...

The Stray Pup

Last week, a dog showed up in our yard. Our dogs went nuts and damn near jumped through a window. I left him alone for a while, even though he was terribly cute—a Blue Heeler mix of some sort. However, we had a water leak and there were workers in...

When Things Go Missing

About two years ago, we installed a dog door. This was a direct result of my youngest German Shorthair Pointer, Mavis, wanting to go outside continuously throughout the day while I was trying to work. I got my steps in, but it was not efficient for...

Vacation TV

My family does not watch a lot of TV. We mainly watch sports. We are not those smug people who judge people for watching TV. There are a lot of great shows out there. I wish I watched more than I do. I just have trouble focusing. I blame menopause...

Best Mom Moments

My good friend recently had a “Best Mom Moment.” She was trying to get her 17-year-old son to New York to meet up with a group of fellow soccer players. They were then headed to Spain for a camp. It did not go smoothly. Upon arrival at the airport...
