What is this blog about? Well, it's a general blog, but it is also a very specific blog. If you get that
reference, you get a gold star! I have been a public relations professional and writer of press
releases for more than 20 years—primarily in the booze biz. I decided to do some writing for
fun and embrace the humor that gets me through most days. Hopefully it will make you
chuckle—or at least smile. I’m a certified crazy magnet, and more than a little nutty myself, so
buckle up. Also, I have two vices—profanity and red wine/whiskey. You’ve been warned.
It should also be noted, that I’m a HUGE Bob & Sheri fan. I’ve been a listener for more than 20
years. This opportunity is a dream come true and it may have made me cry. That being said, I
cry at everything.
If you are into booze, dogs, food and/or knitting, hit me up on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter
(although I’m terrible at Twitter and it scares me) @kyspiritsgal. You can also find all my
previous blog posts at www.kyspiritsgal.com.

We Don’t Rent Pigs

Larry McMurtry is my favorite author. He has been for nearly three decades. We lost his genius last year. It still makes me sad to know there will be no new books from this man. He took me on so many memorable trips and gave me some of the best...

My Potty Mouth

I heard recently on a podcast that studies have shown cursing is a sign of intelligence. I really fucking want to believe it. However, my complete lack of understanding of most math makes me think otherwise. I’m a pretty good person overall. I love...

Attempting To Be Zen

I try to meditate for at least a few minutes every day. I’m not very good at it. Nevertheless, I persist. I use the Headspace app to guide me through my meditation. Upon completion the other day, it told me I had meditated for 275 days in a row and...

For the Love of Books

Not much makes me happier than a bookstore and its glorious contents. I get so excited upon entry. The smell, the colors, the new adventures I’m going to find within and the nearly impossible task of only selecting a few to come home with me. I have...

Sing It Loud

There are a lot of things I can’t do. Of those things, the one I regret the most is that I can’t sing. Yes, I realize it should be that I can’t do math, but here we are. When I say I can’t sing, I really cannot emphasize how bad my singing voice...

Shenanigans at Disney

My daughter, Josie recently accompanied my side of the family on a Disney adventure. She wanted to write about it, so I’m turning things over to her and taking this week off. Hope you enjoy her stories as much as she enjoyed her trip. Cheers! Hello...

An Attitude of Gratitude

Times are tough. The world is a dumpster fire. I suffer from anxiety and get stressed out about something every damn day. Sometimes it’s the big stuff—climate change, racism gender equality, etc. Other times it is some really small, stupid shit—did...
