DRAMA – Sure it may have been a class you took in school, but it can also be something that we need to rid ourselves of in our lives. Drama can come in many forms and can often distract us from living happy joyful lives. We may have people in our lives who bring and create drama wherever they go, and it can be beyond exhausting to deal with these people. You will never change these drama queens or kings but you can alter the amount of drama you allow into your life.
Allowing people and their unwanted drama into your world can cause anxiety, stress, and worry. Drama is overreacting to scenarios that are often cluttering our brain spaces – and the problem with drama is that somebody else’s chaos can easily morph and ooze onto you if you are not cautious and careful. Avoiding this chaos is very important for our minds and bodies, and as you work to declutter drama, it is important to become more aware of the answer to the question: “Who or What is bringing the drama to your life?”
The “Who”
Is there a person or are there people who are tending to bring unwanted drama to your life? If so, how can you prevent this from happening? One way is to set clear boundaries about how and when you will have these people or this person in your life. Another option is to have a discussion with the “drama beings” and let them know how their drama affects you (they may not even be aware).
The “What”
The drama that can arise in our lives may be something that we can disregard and not let bother us. If such dramatic events are so silly or mundane we may be able to let them go, and not let them rest on our shoulders for long periods of time. Letting go is an important thing to do, especially because things will come up in our lives and not letting them get to us is a very useful skill to have. If the drama or dramas are profound and really hard to manage, just try and limit the amount you allow yourself to be involved with these situations.
Keeping all kinds of drama at bay will serve you well, so take the time to consider what drama you can declutter from your world to allow you to breathe with ease.
I also have a podcast called “Journey Into Yoga“. Thus week we add a prop to provide an extra layer to a pose that it will engage the muscles of the thighs.
