Winter has a way of making you want something sweet, warm, and comforting… without doing anything that requires a mixer, a baking sheet, or “preheating.” So here are three two-minute desserts you can make in your kitchen while wearing slippers and pretending you’re going to fold laundry after this (you’re not, and that’s fine).
1) Cozy Mug Brownie
In a mug, mix: 2 tbsp cocoa powder, 2 tbsp sugar, 2 tbsp flour, a pinch of salt, 2 tbsp milk, and 1 tbsp oil or melted butter. Microwave 60 to 90 seconds.
Optional but highly encouraged: drop a spoon of peanut butter in the middle or put a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top and call it “fancy.”
2) Warm “Apple Pie” Bowl
Put applesauce (or sliced apples) in a bowl with a little cinnamon and brown sugar, then microwave 60 to 90 seconds.
Top with granola if you want a little crunch or add vanilla ice cream if you want it to feel like a reward for surviving the week.
3) Cinnamon Sugar Tortilla Crisps
Brush a flour tortilla with melted butter, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar, then microwave 45 to 60 seconds until crisp. Break into pieces.
If you’ve got caramel sauce, chocolate sauce, or even warm applesauce to dip, you are living your best winter life.
