Charlotte “Charly” King is a professional astrologer and author with three years as an associate member of The American Federation of Astrologers.

Born and raised in the UK, she is a proud American citizen, despite pouting about changing her blue hair back to brown because she wanted to be respectable at the interview.

Charly is a science nerd, obsessed with hacking health, prosperity & wellness using a retrospective look at astrological cycles in parallel with those of today. She finished her first book on emotional management in May 2019, (available December 22), while running a horoscope subscription service with daily astrological updates for all signs. Working more with tech developers on dating, wellness, and self-development apps, she has also been using metaphysics to provide algorithms for newcomers in the fin-tech arena and working alongside RNs to investigate health indicators in natal charts. Her favorite areas of astrology have fast become the stock market, health & medicine, and the world's general evolutionary progress.

Charly is the founder of The Horoscope Vault, a new online platform aimed at bringing the benefits of astrology to the public through educational courses and impartial, daily horoscopes.

Most of her time is spent looking at the stars and figuring out the changes that are coming, but in those rare moments when her feet are planted firmly on the ground, she likes to cook, clean, and enjoy the simple aspects of life with her husband and their differently-abled husky, Bean.

Friday the 13th comes with its usual ominous ambiance and then some, as the planets, especially Mars, begin to move forward again. If it has felt like this whole season of celestial shifts has grouped together to give you a challenging time, rest assured relief arrives after this weekend. Walking into and through any fear is the only thing left to do.

We leave a whole bunch of retrograde planets and therefore retrograde energy, behind, beginning with the action planet Mars turning direct on the 12th of January and settling back on its usual, forward-thrusting path by Friday. The unusual ‘backward’ seeming motion of any planet is always about patience, so delays or reversals to your plans and activities that have occurred did so in order to teach you how to wait.

Though it’s likely that very few of us truly slowed down or even stopped initiative action, as was indicated necessary by Mars in Gemini working inversely since before the holidays. If this was you, still pushing forward, you may have met a few memorable moments of resistance in even the most regular of day-to-day activities. Continuing the theme of confident patience, situations occur this week to make sure you are no longer wasting your time.

For Scorpio: If you’ve been thinking about another project, another job, or if you’ve already submitted paperwork (including any kind of application or resume), a response or point of progress can arrive for you between now and January 20th. In the absence of any such big moves like a job change, you may feel generally frustrated or overlooked. The keyword for you this week is negotiation; make sure you are asking for no less than what you need, whether that’s salary, assistance, or even space from others.

Virgo’s are just starting to get back into the swing of work, thanks to an active mind that takes longer to get into relaxation mode and then back out again. Whatever a Virgo is thinking, they’re thinking it tenfold, and as the mind settles back on work matters, enthusiasm is present, possibly relating to a nice, material purchase coming up. Buying a car, spending money on car things, or any other kind of toy or gadget may consume your thoughts this week, with planets conducive to the ‘splurge’ somewhere after January 18th.

No more waiting for outside approval for all signs, the pull between depending on others for something versus doing it yourself becomes helpful if your focus is maximizing productivity. Delegating a task helps curb frustration, whether it’s asking for someone to do simple home chores, difficult home renovations, website logo, design, and tech, or even filing taxes for those early birds; let someone else, better yet hire someone else, and you’ll be happy you did. After months of confusing action, Friday the 13th can be less scary and more invigorating this week.
