Hello and welcome to The Zen Den. My name is Alison and while I am passionate about many things, my most inspiring driving force is human connection. Blogger, content writer, orthopedic exercise specialist, motivational speaker, international yoga pro, published songwriter, avid poker player, mom and wife are just a few of my titles. But when I do my job at NASA, I am known simply as “The Fairy Zenmother” a role I deeply love because people invite me into their space to help them find their center, relax and stretch their muscles and destress their mind. Here in the blogosphere version of The Zen Den, I invite you into my world where I will explore ideas for creating a better tomorrow and a kinder today. And hopefully, with insight, authenticity and humor; my words, observations and experiences will help you feel calm, centered, intellectually challenged and spiritually enlightened. Alternatively, if you have something you would like to see covered in The Zen Den, just let me know. Your feedback is welcome and valuable to the success of this blog. Finally, my heart is filled with gratitude to have this opportunity to share with all of you.

The following is written by a guest blogger. The opinions expressed here are those of the writer and do not reflect the opinions of Bob Lacey, Sheri Lynch or the Bob & Sheri show.

Try as we may, none of us can fill- in other people’s gaps or fix anyone’s broken parts. We can’t take someone’s pain and sorrow away; we can simply offer a shoulder to cry on and a hand to hold.

We can’t make someone realize how valuable they are. But we can inspire hope, love and self-acceptance by our own actions and offer reassurance along the way.

No matter how much we love someone, none of us can be the source of anyone’s happiness if they are unhappy with the person they see in the mirror.

You can’t give an insecure person self-esteem or self-awareness; you can only support their quest for truth and help them see their worth.

You can’t make anyone want to be healthy and fit, happy and whole, centered and balanced or positive and vibrant. In fact, there is inner resistance to all suggestions or outside help when a state of delusion is a safe place and enabled comfort zone.

I am thoroughly convinced there is NOT ONE THING you can do to fix anyone’s anything. Everything, including happiness – is an INSIDE job. Joy and contentment must be self-actualized and no amount of outside insight can produce change. It can only come from within.

Only one’s own PERSONAL realizations can lead to life-changing choices, and then those choices must be practiced and repeatedly chosen every day.

So, all any of us can really do is CHOOSE to live our best life, not be victimized by negative behavior, live by example, encourage one another in love with humility and attempt to live with awareness, honesty and authenticity.  Truth, it always sets us free.
