Deck to Page #21
Two days ago, I set up my new session room.
Not finished.
Not perfected.
Just… good enough.
And instead of waiting, I began.
My first session in the space was with someone who has been seeing me for over four years. There was an understanding—this room, like the work itself, is still in motion. It will shift. It will evolve.
Before the session, I pulled five cards.
The message was clear:
receiving… and the balance between giving and allowing.
One line stood out:
“You might have asked a question on obtaining something in your life, and not accepting or receiving from others could block the flow of abundance in all areas of your life.”
How often do we ask for something—
make a wish, set an intention—
while unconsciously keeping it from arriving?
Not because we don’t want it…
but because we haven’t given ourselves permission to receive it.
To accept help.
To be supported.
To be poured into… not just be the one pouring out.
The first card said it plainly: Receive.
A reminder that giving and receiving are part of the same flow—and when one is blocked, the other is affected.
Then came The Ancient Ones—a quiet reassurance that we are not doing this alone. There is wisdom available to us, guidance that shows up in ways we may not always recognize.
At the center was The Dreamer.
Light. Open. Moving forward without hesitation.
The kind of energy that doesn’t overthink—it trusts, it plays, it moves.
That puppy energy we talked about.
Next was Love.
Not something to chase or earn, but something to allow. Something that exists when we stop resisting it.
And finally, Wizard of Awareness.
The ability to see clearly. To recognize patterns. To understand that awareness itself creates change.
We talked about celebrating self—
not waiting for acknowledgment or praise from others to feel worthy of it.
And allowing both things to exist at once:
joy and depth, playfulness and awareness, dreaming and grounding.
After the session, I noticed something.
The cards were facing her.
The books were facing me.
Two directions.
Two perspectives.
One exchange.
She received what was meant for her.
And I received too.
Then we realized the date.
April 15th.
Tax Day…
and my mom’s birthday.
She passed a few years ago. I closed my eyes and whispered, “Happy birthday, Mom.”
When I got back to my desk, I saw it was also the anniversary of the RMS Titanic sinking.
And I paused.
Because the day suddenly felt layered.
Not just about what needs to be done…
but about what is remembered.
What is honored.
What still lives within us.
So much recall.
So much remembering.
And maybe that’s part of receiving too.
Not just accepting what comes from others—
but allowing moments, memories, and messages to land
when they arrive.
Reflection Prompts:
- Where in your life are you asking for something… but struggling to receive it?
- What does receiving actually feel like in your body—and do you allow it?
- Do you celebrate yourself, or do you wait for others to acknowledge you first?
- When was the last time you felt fully present, curious, and open—like that “puppy energy”?
- If you allowed yourself to dream 10,000 years forward, what shifts in how you see your life now?
- What memories or moments have been asking you to pause… and simply feel them?
